News2001-2002 Business report
Since the formation of Alliance Machine Systems International in 1995, with the purchase of J&L Industries, the Company has continued to invest in the Paperboard Packaging Industry. This year, with the acquisition of ASC Machine Tool’s corrugated machinery business and the acquisition of the ASC/PALLMAC operations in Europe, our family of brands now includes ASC/PALLMAC, J&L, SERCO and TEI. Our material handling expertise is unparalleled and our extensive list of installations throughout the world is unsurpassed. In 2001 we continued to invest in research and development even with the relative softness in the market. Our goal was to add value and ingenuity to our products, enhancing customer efficiency and customer productivity. With this in mind, we introduced, a new generation LOADMASTER , our take-off solution for flexo’s, as well as new products including the CLEAN SWEEP, a bottom sheet removal device and the DYNA STACK, a bottom sheet insertion device. We also introduced the Graphicfold Specialty Folder Gluer, which is specially designed for the high graphics, micro flute market. With our 2001 acquisition’s, our ability to offer a complete material handling system solution, from one company, was greatly enhanced. The ability to service our customers in a professional manner and on a timely basis remains a high priority. We are optimistic about 2002. We feel buying decisions were put on hold in 2001 because of economic conditions, the September 11 impact and the cloud over the industry due to pending integrated acquisitions. We think those buying decisions will be made this year, also our equipment offers increased productivity, labor savings and decreased plant injuries, making it easier for companies to justify capital expenditure and the investment return is a short time period.
